Stick It to the Buff: How The Stick'er Took Street Art to New Heights
From Scratch to Street: The Birth of The Stick'er
How do you get your stickers up high, where no one can touch it? That was the question I was grappling with up until 2021. As a street artist, getting stickers above the buff—the point where city workers or property owners can easily remove them—is key. But the tools available at the time were bulky, inconvenient, and a hassle to bring along on sticker walks. They didn’t fit easily into pockets or backpacks, and using them slowed me down.
That’s when I started developing The Stick'er, a tool designed to solve this problem—something lightweight, compact, and easy to use. I wanted something that would allow me to get stickers up high, quickly, without being a burden to carry.
Early Prototypes: From DIY to 3D Design
My first attempt at creating The Stick'er was a homemade prototype, using a modified back scratcher and cardboard to create a makeshift sticker tool. It worked, technically, but it wasn’t the polished product I envisioned. I wanted something with a professional finish, a tool that felt solid and reliable in your hand. That’s when I started experimenting with 3D design software to sketch out a more refined version.
I realized the paddle top—where the stickers would be placed—needed to be perfect. To get it right, I worked with a professional 3D designer, refining the design until we had something sleek and functional. After months of tweaking and perfecting, the final design was ready.
From Concept to Reality: The Stick'er Takes Shape
When the design was complete, I whipped up a small batch of what would become The Stick'er. Compact and extendable, the tool could now fit easily into a pocket or backpack. Its paddle top made it simple to place stickers in hard-to-reach spots, making it the perfect tool for street artists on the go.
I showed it to a few friends in the street art community, and the response was immediate. They loved the simplicity and effectiveness of the tool and wanted one for themselves. Encouraged by their feedback, I went into full production mode, designing packaging that reflected the sleek, minimalist design of The Stick'er. Soon after, I released it to the world.
Going Viral: The Stick'er Takes Off
Once The Stick'er hit the streets, it didn’t take long for the buzz to build. Artists started posting photos and videos of themselves using it to place stickers in unreachable spots—spots no one could buff. These Instagram posts quickly gained traction, going viral within the street art community. Artists from all over the world were showing how they used The Stick'er to reach new heights, literally and creatively. The posts were shared, liked, and commented on, helping spread the word far beyond my immediate circle.
Seeing these videos blow up on social media was incredible. The tool I’d envisioned for myself had become a must-have for other street artists, and the demand grew faster than I could have imagined.

Today, The Stick'er has become a game-changer for sticker artists who want to make their mark—high above the buff. It’s compact, easy to carry, and has proven itself as an essential tool for sticker walks. What started as a simple idea born out of necessity has grown into a viral sensation, helping artists all over the world reach spots they never thought possible.
